DBFF Built an Expansive Audience. BPDI Helped Reveal Its Full Reach.
BPDI connected years of fragmented first-party audience records into one consolidated view, expanding the contact base by approximately 233% compared with the active outreach list.

The Decision
BPDI was brought into DBFF to build a stronger intelligence foundation for the festival, including audience, sponsor, event, behavioral, and economic measurement that could support better decisions before, during, and after the festival. Before adding new telemetry or reporting, we needed to understand the first-party audience DBFF had already built and how much of that audience was visible in one place.
The active outreach list represented only part of the relationships DBFF had accumulated across years of ticketing, registration, communications, and programming.
Where the Evidence Lived
DBFF had accumulated years of first-party audience information across multiple systems used for different parts of the organization. Each system held valuable relationships, but no single source provided a complete view of the audience DBFF had built over time.
That fragmentation limited the organization's ability to understand its full reach and use that audience consistently across communications, sponsorship, audience development, and future measurement. Creating a unified view became an important foundation for the broader intelligence work BPDI was building with DBFF.
The Analytical Move
BPDI normalized the records, reconciled identities across the three systems, preserved source history, and created one consolidated first-party contact file. The work went beyond simple deduplication because the same person could appear under different spellings, email addresses, or platform records, with no common identifier linking those entries together. Once the systems were reconciled, BPDI compared the consolidated file with the list DBFF had been actively using for outreach.
The consolidated first-party contact list was approximately 233% larger than the active outreach list. That increase came from relationships DBFF had already earned through years of programming and engagement, giving the organization a much stronger base for audience segmentation, sponsor intelligence, geographic analysis, and future event measurement.
BPDI increased the size of DBFF's consolidated first-party contact list by approximately 233% compared with the list the organization had been actively using for outreach.
The gain came from connecting relationships DBFF already owned and turning fragmented records into a usable intelligence asset. With the audience brought into one view, DBFF could see the scale of its reach more clearly and use that foundation to support future engagement and measurement.
What Changed
DBFF now has a stronger first-party foundation for the intelligence system BPDI was brought in to build. The organization can see audience relationships across sources, understand overlap, segment by available attributes, and build future outreach from a more complete baseline.
That stronger baseline supports sponsor packages, audience development, geographic analysis, future survey design, and the measurement of behavior before and after festival participation. The reconciled file and supporting documentation were delivered to DBFF so the organization can continue building from the same foundation.
Why This Recurs
Growing organizations often accumulate data faster than they integrate it. Ticketing, registration, email, and event systems can each work correctly while the organization still sees only part of its audience. Connecting the relationships already on hand can create immediate value before any new data collection begins.
